Trezor Hardware Login®
Safe access to your hardware wallet — authenticate with PIN, confirm on-device prompts, and protect funds with optional passphrase encryption.
Login flow — what to expect
The login process uses your physical Trezor device to verify and sign actions. This page describes the recommended, secure flow for unlocking access to your accounts.
Step-by-step
- Connect your Trezor — use a data-capable USB cable and plug the device into your computer.
- Open Trezor Suite or supported app — allow the app to connect via Trezor Bridge or native connector.
- Verify device name & fingerprint — confirm the device model and fingerprint match your expectations.
- Enter your PIN on the device — pins are entered on the Trezor screen or with on-device UI; never type your seed on a computer.
- Optional: enter passphrase — if you use a passphrase, enter it on the device (recommended for hidden wallets).
- Approve actions — every transaction or sensitive change requires on-device confirmation. Check addresses and amounts before approving.
Quick tip: If you're connecting for the first time, ensure firmware is up-to-date and follow on-screen firmware prompts only if shown by your device.
Common login states
- No device connected: check cable, USB port, and that Bridge (if used) is running.
- Device locked: enter PIN on the device to unlock.
- Firmware update pending: follow official prompts; do not accept firmware from unknown sources.
Security warning: Never share your recovery seed or enter it on a website. Support staff will never ask for your seed. If prompted for a seed online, disconnect immediately.
FAQ — Safe access
Can I log in without my physical device?
No. A hardware wallet requires the physical device (or a restored device) to unlock private keys. If you have the recovery seed, you can restore onto another compatible device.
What if I forget my PIN?
Entering the wrong PIN repeatedly will increase delay between attempts. Your funds remain safe — restore them on a new device using your recovery seed if needed.
Is the passphrase required?
No — passphrase is optional. It creates a hidden wallet and adds a layer of protection, but if you lose the passphrase you lose access to that hidden wallet.
